COMFORT Underfloor heating provides much more efficient heat distribution than standard radiator based central heating systems. Radiator based systems work primarily through convected heat - heating the air around the radiator, which then rises to the top of the room, heating your ceiling more than you! Underfloor heating systems are different, they split their heat between convected and radiant heat, and produce a heat graph much more suitable for humans (as you can see in the diagram above) heating the floor first with more heat retained at an optimum height. ECONOMY AND THE ENVIRONMENT Compared to conventional heating systems, an underfloor heating system costs less to run. Most people also find that due to the improved heat distrubution, they can run their underfloor heating at a lower temperature than they were with their conventional system, meaning your energy useage is lowered again - saving you money and helping the environment. DESIGN IMPROVEMENT Radiators are a feature of most houses in the UK, and unless you can afford hugely expensive designer radiators, they are not very attractive and take up a suprising amount of room. Once you fit an underfloor heating system you'll be able to design your room to suit it's purpose - not to fit around where the radiators are! You can truly design without any restrictions! CONTROL With an underfloor heating system you can have as many thermostats as neccessary, compared to standard heating systems where you have one temperature for the entire house. This allows you control over individual areas of your home as neccessary. MAINTENANCE There are no moving parts, no noise, and no valves to go wrong. Once you fit an underfloor heating system, only a routine electrical inspection every now and then is all thats needed. |
